This isn't a request, but more of a suggestion; you should try working with a new character(s), like Sunset Shimmer, Trixie, or some background characters. It'd be great to see someone with such great capabilities show us characters we haven't seen in your style before. Keep up the great work!

I have been either fairly focused on certain existing characters, or original characters. Partially due to my First Contact War not featuring a lot of existing characters being set in distant history.
But that's no reason not to make some others for sure!
It's something I've been thinking about, for example using my patreon to select a monthly character for me to make. Or something similar. I can imagine it can be interesting both for me and others.

Of course my supply of Applejacks will always continue either way haha :P

Simple answer would be "Why not?", but that also doesn't feel like a good answer.

For me it's been a lot a combination of aspects to it. From the community, to the subject, and just the artistic motivation it brings with it.
It gives quick result when making something based on a world that's already developed and fleshed out. Artistically it also brings its own challenges with it. I enjoy the show and the community, and this is a fun way to give something back in return, while I still also advance myself.

For me MLP offers different artistic challenges, because I do try to bring it into my own style. Which is fairly different from the show.
Not only my own style, but also something different from regular humans. There's humans a plenty and those are easiest to kinda pick up and make I believe. (A lot of references for humans walking around hehe.)

The challenge with MLP is translating a completely different style into a 3D representation. Figuring out their face shapes, which I've had quite a few different approaches to so far. A big difference as well, which ties in with the humans is, they're quadruped, humanised through their behaviour. It's a challenge on its own to make bipedal relate to quadrupeds in similar ways, without relying on anthropomorphizing. Putting them in an action scene, or any other scene. It's fun figuring those things out, and I think a worthy thing to know. It helps with creatures beyond MLP as well. So it's at least not an isolated "skill" to know.

I am more of an all around artist. Being aware that there's always more, whether making ponies, humans, creatures, structures, landscapes, or what ever else possible. So I do switch things around now and then. Or from a different perspective, I try to never exclude other possibilities, always willing to consider them :)
