Scoot Routine by AssasinMonkey Scoot Routine by AssasinMonkey
Another episode, another piece.
This time landscape wallpaper size!

Kinda knew I wanted to do this jump scene, whether the first or second time she did it. At first wanted to include the other CMCs as well, but decided that their position and stance didn't do them any justice. So I went and focused on just Scootaloo this time and I guess there was quite a focus around her this episode anyway :)

Approaching a low view and fun perspective again., initially had the stage public in the lower left corner but it just felt so out of balance I decided to put the camera as low to the ground as possible, down into the grass haha.
Perhaps had a slightly different take on colour saturation and values and such, paying some attention to those aspects and the overall lighting.
Also kept everything fairly rough again, which seems to work out nicely for these, especially with the implied movement. (Still not completely dismissing finer details though)

Approx time: 5-6 hours

Diamond and Silver should be ashamed of themselves.

I feature your wonderful deviation here
The radial blur look you've used in this piece make it feel as if Scootaloo is pulling off quite the stunt. The sensation is actually more present here than in the routine shown in "Flight to the Finish."

When they made Scootaloo jump I just had to lift her and take it even higher hehe, I knew exactly which scene I wanted to make after the episode. Fun to hear the results of all the blurring and other effects :)

Now that is an epic Scootaloo image, I love the sense of motion given!
cool stuff - the perspective is great (you dont see too many upwards looking shots!) and the blurring is, well, trippy! :D

Thanks! I've been playing around with these perspectives a lot lately, great fun! Though I can see why some choose to avoid it hehe (can be hard at times) Still, always nice too see it appreciated when done :)

Ha... Awesome and fun!
Yeah, that scene was great. It was a great episode. We also learned that Scootaloo lives in a house and she ain't an orphan!

Awesome work.
