Earth Pony Sniper Dev. [Animatic WIP 01]

Just a WIP so far, but thought I'd share it. Initially planned to do just a technical design sheet, but ended up doing a simple animation along the way.

My earth pony sniper adaptation, complete with simple (backyard) research into the mechanics, trying to make as much as possible automatic by purely mechanical solutions (no computers, electricity or any buttons etc.)

Already had most of the concept for the mechanical functions behind everything so I went on and made all the visual aspects. Stepping way from the smaller sketch's straight and industrial designs (sharp corners) and went with more organic round, slightly like plate armour to keep it somewhat close to the current pony technology.
Then I decided to do a quick dirty "animation" or I guess animatic , just moving the different parts around, timing things and get a feeling for it.

I already sketched and filled the parts in separately with animation in mind. So this kind of gave on idea of the direction I want to go in with this, fairly simple.
Though I might eventually make her walk or run, in the sense of moving from spot to spot and every time firing a shot.
That will take a while probably and I still have to think about what I want to do in terms of shading and colour.

Firing/reload mechanism idea is a combination of a revolver, recoiling barrel, belt feed, spring recoil and what other terms there were that applied to this.
When firing, the barrel moves back, while the breech moves even further back which also expels the empty shell while a revolving mechanism had pulled a bullet from the belt backwards alongside the breech, which then loads it in.
The barrel is positioned as close to the center of the pivot point or slightly underneath to try and prevent the gun going up and allow for faster rate of fire.
As visible, the casing on top contains the main spring which is attached to the main barrel (I'll give the breech a separate spring) And there's a lot more little things I could add to it, but for now I'm keeping it with the big parts.
So yea... I guess that's just some of the idea haha, complexity for fun.
