Commission for :icontenebris789: featuring his OC Brimstone (Pony) and Grutch (Parasite/head) :

Grutch is a shape shifting parasite which grants Brimstone (Earth Pony) power. In this case I chose to transform him into wings :)
Brimstone, who wanted power, could never control it, until Grutch basically came along. But now they are bound together.

Haven't done a "dark/creepy" piece in a while I think, or at least one where the visuals resemble it as well.
It's something that I do also cover. Although I didn't go full on with gore, just superficial stuff.
Had to remind myself that though haha. I haven't gone full gore in a long long time and when it comes to pony, I might keep it that way for a bit.

Anyhow! it was fun to do the different challenges that comes with these visuals, different surfaces to think about.
And I'm quite liking these light settings lately heh, must be a fase.

Amazing work. I find the parasite stunning, but it would be better if the reflection faced at "Us" creating a pupil like effect. I love how you portrayed the parasite comes out of the skin, showing through the muscle and having the creature as a skull. You even included it's own separate muscle to open and close its mouth. The transition between the creature and the pony is quite smooth adding to the impact and realism of it. I gave the technique a 4 because some of the strokes don't continue throughout the body, like the front left leg/arm. The shading is Spot on, and the lighting fits perfectly in the scene. Though the illuminated background doesn't fit the back left tree suggests a marsh, I think.
Finally I think this work is stunning.

this piece that you drew is one of a kind, creative and the colors are deep and amazing the way that you portray his picture and I love how you put so much detail into showing how this creature growing on her back effects her and how realistic it makes it look I loved everything about this picture, the way you colored the background and shaded the Scenery to emphasize the full picture and make it stand out in an amazing way, I have never seen a picture quite like this before, it all blends and comes together perfectly I love it and I cant wait to see more of your work ^^

Um... cute? :D

I quite like the look of this. The frailty of the pony really emphasizes the ominousness of the parasite.

Amazing. The use of color against the background really brings this piece out.

Ooh, nicely done! :)

My biggest criticisms would be that the pose is unbalanced (which could be explained by it being a snapshot of a scene) and that the tail looks a little too solid against the ground, as if it were taking root (which might be deliberate but if so then it should be more obvious).

I'd do a full critique but that's most of it right there and full critiques are kind of time consuming since I nitpick for them!

I slightly "cheated" with the balance with how the show does it sometimes. But yea, it's quite front heavy.
Though I guess like the other reply, it might be slightly rooted hehe although I kept making it more and more hairlike everywhere.
Basically I was maybe leaning a bit on other world physics and dark magic :P

Oddly enough, the tail taking root would serve to help him balance pretty well.
